Back to School Savings with Sam's Club: Giveaway
I'm new to the world of Box Tops but now that my child is close to entering his public school years, I know they will become a bigger deal. I've heard of some pretty intense competitions between classes as the Box Tops help raise money for the school. I'll admit, I've clipped a few over the years but I've never put in much effort as my child wasn't in school yet. Through MOPS though, I did learn that Huggies diapers contain Box Tops so I do clip those.
From August 6-13, Sam's Club is offering 150 Bonus Box Tops when you upgrade to a premium membership. Also, this weekend Sam's Club is offering free entry to anyone. This is a great time to check it out and see if a membership would be beneficial to you.
Today, I'm offering a $25 Sam's Club gift card as a giveaway. This contest will be open until Saturday, August 14. At that time, I will pick a winner via random.org and they will have 48 hours to respond.
To enter (first one is mandatory, others are for bonus entries):
1. Tell me your favorite savings strategy for back to school shopping.
2. Post about this giveaway on your blog.
3. Follow me on Twitter @LifeWithLess.
4. Subscribe via RSS or email.
Disclaimer: I was provided with a gift card and upgrade to my membership from Sam's Club & General Mills through MyBlogSpark. No other compensation occurred.

For back to school savings, I don't buy too early because stores have price wars right before school starts. This year, we are also taking advantage of the tax free weekend.
Shop year-round and when you find a good sale for school supplies, stock up for the entire year, not just the immediate future. *Thanks* for the giveaway!

Start buying "good deal" items as they come out. Remember to buy enough for the whole school year. Use coupons and rebates when applicable.

I start weeks before school atarts and get the supplies when they are very cheap - I go to several stores, several weeks (they are close so it's not a huge gas loss) I also stock up on supplies that they might need mid-year. They are expensive at that time!

Back to school savings - We pick a weekend where a store has most of what we need on sale.
We take a list and stick to it!

My strategy is simple....
We shop during the whole year. I don't just buy at the start of school. Sales are going on all year and I try to take advantage of them as they come.
I also do not buy impulsively!
I shop clearance and sale items. My teenagers do the same thing!
It would literally kill them to pay full price!
:)
My favorite strategy is to shop at the Dollar Store.

I stock up on school supplies when they're on sale. I don't have to buy any during the year.

I like to combine back to school shopping with other regular trips to the stores. That way, if target has something on sale that week from his list, then I'll pick it up while I'm already there, and then the next week from another store. Little by little the shopping is done!

My favorite savings strategy for savings back to school, is kind of obvious: shop the sales and stock up during the summer months. I always get double everything they need, because around January, new items are needed, but the prices are outrageous!
